Not to be outdone by Suntory’s Zero Dry series, Kirin has released their own Zero carbs series – Hyouketsu Zero. Instead of sucralose, Kirin has opted for Acesulfame K (a.k.a. Acesulfame potassium, often marketed under the names Sunett and Sweet One.) Hyouketsu Zero surprises me because in spite of the artificial sugar, this lemon chuuhai tastes quite dull. It’s certainly less sharp and less tart than the regular version, but it has has much less flavor. Boo. Kirin Hyouketsu Lemon isn’t as good as the regular Kirin Hyouketsu Lemon (which is already low in sugar) or the Suntory Zero Dry series.
