Oh, this is interesting. Kirin’s trademark line, “Hyouketsu” (Freezing), is offering a few 3% alcohol chuuhai under the sublabel of “yasashii kajitsu no 3%.” Yuzu, also sometimes known as “citron” in English, is a very sweet and very tart citrus fruit. Its flavor is rather extreme, but the honey flavor here provides a very apt counterbalance. This chuuhai is both low on the alcohol AND the calories, unlike Suntory’s Horoyoi line. I greatly look forward to sampling the pink grapefruit and red grape versions of Kirin’s new series.
