I’m a fan of umeshu, aka plum wine (梅 (うめ) is Prunus mume, commonly known as Chinese plum and Japanese apricot), though I find umeshu is often so sugary and high in alcohol I can’t drink much of it because my throat will start to hurt.

Suntory’s Horoyoi Umeshu Soda is a nice compromise. It still has a whallop of sugar, but the alcohol content has been reduced from 14% to 3%. It offers a smooth and mellow flavor that I enjoy. Also, it’s slightly more tart than the Horoyoi Lemon. But I would like an even more reduced umeshu.
